| Q |
What makes these clocks
collectibles? |
A |
The clocks
are limit-production works of art. Each is hand cast, and approved by
Ron Sully of Adriano Design. All clocks are stamped and
numbered. Even
as popular as the Metropolis clock is, it will not be mass produced like
the timepieces you typically find in major retailers. I expect that only
2000 of the Metropolis clocks will be sold before I retire the mold. |
| Q |
How do I care for the clocks? |
A |
The Natural Bronze version
is sealed with Parylene and needs nothing more than to be cleaned with window cleaner
or dusted from time to time. The
Platinum model has a tough finish; try not to drop it on your
driveway. Do not use abrasives on either model. |
| Q |
How do I change
the time and change the battery? |
A |
Go to the "Setting
the time and changing the battery" page. |
| Q |
What finish do
you use to seal the Natural Bronze desk clock? |
A |
The Natural
bronze clock is sealed from oxidation, and protected from aging with a extremely
thin, transparent film called Parylene. It doesn't change the look of
the bronze, and you can't see it. Read
more about the Natural Bronze Metropolis clock. |
| Q |
What
kind of packaging do you ship the clocks in? |
A |
All
clocks are packaged in blue velvet bags, packed in tissue paper, and
enclosed in an attractive gift box. We
will insert a personal note in the gift package. |
| Q |
What kind of bronze do you use? |
A |
Everdure silicon
bronze, the art casting bronze of choice for over 80 years. It's also known as
"hot-cast" bronze. It is an alloy of 95%
copper, 4% silicon, and 1% manganese.
|
| Q |
Will there be more cast art
clocks in the future? |
A |
Yes, we have at
least six more architecturally- inspired designs that will see
production. |
| Q |
What size are the clocks? |
A |
They are 4 and
1/2 inches tall and weigh 2 pounds. |
| Q |
Who designed the Metropolis
Clock? |
A |
It is an original
design by Ron Sully, the owner of Adriano Design. |
